For those who celebrate, Mother’s Day can be one of the most stressful holidays of the year. Maternal figures are oftentimes the foundation of a family, displaying resilience, hard work, strength, and wisdom as they nurture. They’re often a child’s first friend, teacher, and confidant, and remain one of their biggest cheerleaders throughout life.
How do you properly plan a gift or a day to celebrate one of the most important people in your life, who has done so much for you but never asks for anything in return?
To help take a little bit of the stress and worry over choosing the perfect gift, restaurant, or experience for mom away, Klatch Coffee has put together a guide on places to go and things to do for Mother’s Day in Southern California for 2026.

For moms who love to stop and smell the roses, make a day trip out to Pasadena! The Huntington is a library, art museum, and botanical garden that is the perfect place to experience a little culture and calm.
The Huntington boasts 130 acres of biodiverse gardens that will be in bloom, along with iconic collections of art from various different points in time, telling the tales of history and literature. You and mom can embark on a quiet stroll through the many beautiful botanical collections and enjoy the smells and sights of roses, succulents, orchids, tropical plants, camellias, and more. If mom prefers, you can also head indoors to check out the eight directions of the wind: Edmund de Waal at The Huntington, Betye Saar: Drifting Toward Twilight, or the Mapel Orientation exhibitions as well.
The Huntington is open from 10am to 5pm, and reservations can be made on their website. Prior to your visit, stop by Klatch Coffee in Pasadena just two miles away to grab a lavender latte to sip in the gardens together!
Spend some quality quiet time together enjoying art, beauty, and some great coffee. -
For moms who prefer a fancy evening outing, make your way out to Los Angeles! Start the festivities with a visit to Klatch Coffee inside of Sprouts Farmers Market #285 to pick up a bouquet from the market and a coffee off our spring seasonal menu for mom. Then, head two miles northeast to enjoy an early dinner at the famous Italian restaurant, Mother Wolf.
After enjoying some quality time and dinner together, head just a few more blocks north to Hollywood’s famous Pantages Theatre and end your night by enjoying a musical together. For the month of May, the theatre will be featuring The Sound of Music, but the Pantages Theatre brings a variety of productions all year long. For May, this musical is a classic story reimagined on the live stage so you and mom can reminisce on old memories with the same music that you know and love.
A little bit of casualness, a little bit of fanciness, and a little bit of drama; there’s no better day planned for the mom with a flair. -
If mom enjoys unique experiences, head west to Redondo Beach! Kobe Pearl & Gem Co in Redondo Beach allows guests to pick their own pearls directly from oysters themselves. Choose an oyster, pop it open with the help of the Kobe Pearl & Gem Co team, and find out what kind of pearl you found! You can then choose to keep the pearl as-is, or add on a piece of jewelry they’ll help you set your pearl in. Get mom a nice pearl necklace or ring with extra special memories attached to it!
Klatch Coffee Redondo Beach is just half a mile away from the pier, making it a great first stop to grab some coffee before heading to the water. This one’s a great option for a touch of surprise and a keepsake that can be worn with pride for any and all occasions. -
For moms who love an adventure, the amusement parks in Anaheim are a great option for a full day of fun! Ride every single ride together, meet all your favorite characters, and get competitive for the games that require some work. When you’re done at Disneyland, head across the way to Disneyland California Adventure Park to take on The Incredicoaster.
Make your way to Downtown Disney for dinner, and make sure to stay for the fireworks at the end of the night! This day is jam-packed full of activity, so make sure you stop by Klatch Coffee inside of Sprouts Farmers Market #244 just under four miles away first for some caffeine to keep you fueled.
A little bit of chaos, a little bit of magic, and a whole lot of memories to be made.

For the moms who enjoy the outdoors, but prefer connecting with nature instead of exploring art galleries like The Huntington, take her for a hike at the Chino Hills State Park! After your hike, there’s nothing more enjoyable than heading to a cafe with outdoor seating to relax and enjoy some caffeine and a breeze.
Fresh air and open space, wildflowers and golden hills, unplugging and unwinding, and enjoying a nice ambient coffee shop afterwards. Klatch Coffee in Chino Hills is just five miles away, and has plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy! What more could you need for a perfect Sunday together?
If you prefer to take your treat along with you during your hike and want a quick grab-and-go option instead, our Klatch Coffee inside of Sprouts Farmers Market #420 is also within fifteen minutes of the State Park. Grab a healthy bite from the market, grab your favorite cup of coffee, and head for the trails!

For moms who want to stay closer to home but still enjoy basking in the warm sun and shopping, venture over to Victoria Gardens! Stop by Klatch Coffee inside of Sprouts Farmers Market #245, just half a mile away, before heading to the outdoor shopping mall to grab a sweet drink to sip on while you walk around.
There are electronics stores, clothing stores, jewelry stores, escape rooms, a movie theatre, and more, so there’s something for everyone. Is your mom rooting for the LA Dodgers this season? Make sure to check out the team’s newest Dodgers Clubhouse while you’re walking around, too! Treat mom and treat yourself with some shopping, snacking, sipping, and sun.
At the end of the day, Mother’s Day isn’t about finding perfection—it really is the thought that counts. Let mom know you thought of her and her interests and plan the day together. Take her somewhere she’s always wanted to go but never had the chance to, share something you enjoy with her to let her really connect with you, or try something new for the both of you to learn and discover. Whether it’s by gifting mom a bag of our El Salvador Las Mercedes Pacamara Black Honey or stopping by one of our store locations before or after your adventures for the day, Klatch Coffee is honored and happy to take part in your festivities, one cup or one bag at a time.
